Anyone attending a hunting day with the SDB, whether that as a rider, quarry or foot follower, is required to comply with these instructions, if you are unwilling to follow them IN FULL then you must not attend. These are SDB specific measures, however the Government guidelines take priority and they must always be complied with in full in the first instance. This protocol is designed to ensure the safety of those attending the hunt, and the wider community. The Joint Masters, Hunt Secretary, Hunt Club Chairman and Quarry Captain are tasked with the job of ensure COVID-19 precautions are complied with. If you cannot accept their authority, please do not attend.

    1. Anyone who is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, like high temperature, new continuous cough, loss of taste or smell, or indeed is feeling generally unwell, should not attend until either they have been tested negative, or have fully recovered by not showing any recurrence for a 14 day period since recovery/last negative test.
    2. Riders must make all best attempts to pay their cap electronically/BACS. If this cannot be done, the correct cap must be in an envelope, with your name and contact details on the outside.
    3. All attendees (this includes foot followers) must email their contact details (for trace & trace) to secretary@southdownsbloodhounds.com before the event. At the event a hunt supporter will tick you off the attendance sheet.
    4. The size of social bubbles are to be kept to the minimum necessary to attend (and within Government guidance). Just because you may have come in a vehicle with one other person DO NOT link up and create a group of 6 with your friends, but rather keep you social distance and that bubble of 2. This applies to foot followers just as much as riders, although a rider may well arrive in a separate vehicle to the one bringing their horse.
    5. Social distancing to be maintained at the ideal distance of 2m (but a very minimum of 1m+).
    6. ALL ATTENDING are to carry a face mask and plastic gloves. These are as a precaution if you need to assist with an incident (loose horse, fallen rider, lame hound etc.) and close/break social distancing/bubble. In such an event human/animal safety will take priority. However, those attending/helping should be limited to the number necessary and avoid the ‘cluster effect’ these incidents can generate.
    7. If a gate is to be negotiated, a single gate opener/shutter will be appointed (ideally a foot follower) to minimise the chance of transmission/contamination.
    8. Refreshments are only to be shared with another household member.
    9. Attendees are advised to carry their own hand sanitiser.
    10. Hunt Staff. The Hunt Staff will be forming their own very distant bubble from other followers of the hunt. Please do not park near them, or pass anything to them.
    11. Quarry. The total number of quarry plus driver cannot exceed the number of legal seats available in the quarry vehicle. The quarry should form their own bubble. Masks are to be worn when travelling in the quarry transport and hand sanitiser is to be carried in the vehicle.
